Students of Saint Soldier International School, Sector 28 B, Chandigarh brought laurels to the institution with an outstanding performance at the CBSE Athletic Cluster XVII – 2025, held at Punjabi University, Patiala and organised by Sushila Devi Public School, Patiala. The athletes showcased exemplary skill, determination and sportsmanship, securing an impressive 38 medals, including 10 Gold, 19 Silver and 9 Bronze. Adding another feather to the cap, five star athletes – Gurnoor, Harleen, Baani, Alina and Gurjot have qualified for the CBSE Athletics Nationals, scheduled at St. Atulanand Convent School, Varanasi (U.P.) from 10th to 13th September 2025.

The championship witnessed several remarkable individual performances. Baani of Class XII Science won Bronze in both 1500m and 800m, while Gurnoor of Class X A clinched Silver in 100m and 200m. Harkirat Kaur of Class XII Arts secured Silver in 400m, and Gurjot of Class XII Arts added to the tally with Bronze in 400m and Silver in Long Jump. A special highlight of the tournament was the girls’ relay team, which brought double glory by winning Gold in both the 4x100m and 4x400m relays. The winning combination of Baani, Gurnoor, Harkirat Kaur and Alina displayed flawless teamwork, speed and coordination to secure the top position in both events.

The boys too made their mark with powerful performances. In the Under-19 category, the team comprising Gurjot, Mayank, Karthikey, Abhimanyu and Tejas won Silver in the 4x100m Relay and Bronze in the 4x400m Relay. In the Under-17 category, the team of Amit Yadav, Kush Dahiya, Jasgun, Dinkar and Shivansh showcased remarkable consistency, clinching Silver in both the 4x100m and 4x400m Relays. Principal Ms. Anisha Ghuman applauded the commendable efforts of the achievers, appreciated the dedication of the coaches, and motivated the students to continue striving for excellence at the national level.
