The Athletics Team of Saint Soldier International School, Sector-28 B, Chandigarh lifted 5 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze medals in the Chandigarh Sub-Junior and Junior Athletics State Championship 2024-25 organised at the Sports Complex Sector 7 by the Chandigarh Athletics Association. The event attracted over 3500 athletes from across the state. The Under 14 Boys Relay Team of Dinkar, Kush, Madhav, and Shaurya won the gold medal in 4x100m Relay Race. Kush of Class VIII was first in the Triathlon which included 60m, 600m races and Long Jump. Sakshi, Class VIII achieved a silver in the Pentathlon, excelling in 5 events (Long Jump, 60m, 600m, Shot Put, and 80m Hurdle). Other silver medal winners were Dheeraj, Class XI (High Jump), Bani Class XI (1000m race). The youngest participants Divjot, Virat, Vimarsh, Shubham, and Aveer brought silver in the 4x25m relay. Bronze medal winners were Harkirat from XI Arts (800m & 400m races) Sakshi, Class IX (Shot put) & the Under-16 Girls 4x100m relay team of Gurnoor, Chetna, Harmanpreet, and Sakshi. The school received the Award of Honour Trophy for maximum participation. Athletics coach Mr. Surinder Pal Singh received a ₹11,000 cash award for promoting athletic talent. Principal Ms.Anisha Ghuman congratulated all participants and the coach for their outstanding achievements, reflecting the school’s commitment to nurturing young athletes.
