Saint Soldier International School, Sector 28 B, Chandigarh, celebrated India's 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and immense patriotic zeal. The event was marked by spectacular cultural performances and activities, reflecting the significance of this historic day. The celebrations commenced with the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag by the school Chairman Mr Ravinder Pal Singh Hayer, accompanied by Adviser Ms Vijaya Sidhu and Principal, Ms Anisha Ghuman. The entire school reverberated with the rendition of the National Anthem by all present, filling the atmosphere with pride and unity. The NCC drill performed by the school cadets was a testament to the strength and spirit of youth, ready to serve the nation with pride. The precision and discipline displayed by these young cadets during the drill were commendable. A thought-provoking speech was delivered by Sourish from Class IX, emphasizing the significance of the day and encouraging the students to uphold the values of freedom, equality, and brotherhood. Hiroshi and Labika of Class VI presented a beautiful patriotic poem reflecting the emotions of love, gratitude and dedication to the motherland.

The highlight of the programme was a musical play with a message for the young audience to be good citizens of the nation. The event also featured a melodious group song performed by the students of Class VIII. The vibrant dance performances by the talented students of the junior and senior wing energised the atmosphere and filled everyone’s hearts with pride. The audience were spellbound on witnessing the physical drill, where the students of Class IX demonstrated discipline, teamwork, and physical prowess, symbolizing the strength and unity of our nation through various activities like yoga asanas, aerobics and dumbbell exercises. The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Sakshi from Class IX, expressing gratitude to the teachers, students, and everyone involved in making the event a success. The function was a true reflection of the patriotic spirit that Independence Day embodies, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of pride and commitment towards the nation. Principal, Ms Anisha Ghuman in her address applauded the students, teachers and supporting staff for the heartfelt efforts they had put in for the grand success of the day.
