Saint Soldier International School, Chandigarh marked Van Mahotsav week with a variety of activities. The NSS Wing carried out a tree plantation drive by planting saplings in the school ground. NSS Heads Mr. Saurabh and Mr. Manoj motivated the students for a heightened sense of responsibility towards the environment. Morning assemblies conducted during the week were marked by themes like ‘Clean Earth, Green Earth’, ‘Plant more Trees’, etc. There was also a poster-making activity where children could express their opinions about environmental conservation. The vivid banners contained powerful messages pushing for a greener planet. Students also took part in a slogan-writing activity to underline the need for environmental protection. Their thought-provoking and inventive slogans were put up around the school to serve as continual reminders of how important it is to protect the environment. The school Eco Club Parag took care of the herbal garden by cleaning the area and planting more herbs such as Tulsi, Aloe-vera, Peppermint, Ajwain, etc and putting up neat labels of names of the herbs. The week was a huge success, encouraging children to take care of the environment highlighting the need of preserving our natural resources for future generations.
