The 2nd St. Soldier Lawn Tennis Tournament a 3-day annual event concluded on 16th October 2025 at Saint Soldier International School, Sector 28, Chandigarh, with an exhilarating Grand Finale that celebrated talent, sportsmanship and determination. Over the past two days, 13 leading schools from across Tricity participated in fiercely contested matches, showcasing skill, teamwork and perseverance. The top two teams, Saint Soldier International School and Vivek High School, Sector 38, qualified for the final showdown, setting the stage for a thrilling conclusion to the tournament.
The earlier rounds were marked by intense singles and doubles matches. Samrat of St. Stephen’s School defeated Yajat of St. Kabir by 6-3, while Anuvrat of St. Kabir beat Vyan of St. Stephen’s by 6-2. In doubles, Yajat and Anuvrat of St. Kabir triumphed over Vyan and Samrat of St. Stephen’s by 6-2, securing third position for St. Kabir. In singles, Sourabh Singh Dhillon of Vivek High defeated Charchit of Saint Soldier 6-2, while Vrishin of Saint Soldier overcame Kabir of Vivek High 6-1. The doubles match saw Kabir and Sourabh of Vivek High prevail over Charchit and Vrishin of Saint Soldier by 6-3, ultimately securing the Winner’s Trophy for Vivek High School.
The victorious team from Vivek High School, guided by coaches Anupam Chettri and Vicky, comprised players Kabir, Sohraab and Shubh. Saint Soldier International School, under coach Harsh Khatri, included Charchit, Vrishin and Viren and was awarded the 1st Runners-Up Trophy, while St. Kabir Public School, Sector 26, Chandigarh, claimed the 2nd Runners-Up Trophy.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Honourable Chief Guest Dr. Nemi Chand Goliaya, State Liaison Officer, NSS, along with Director Mr. Jagwinderpal Singh Hayer, Adviser Ms. Vijaya Sidhu and Principal Ms. Anisha Ghuman, who felicitated the winners and appreciated all participants for their dedication, skill and sportsmanship. Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Goliaya encouraged students to carry forward the lessons of discipline, teamwork and resilience beyond the courts.
